The University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications seeks an assistant professor, tenure-track, to join our award-winning advertising and public relations program starting in August 2019. Primary responsibilities will be in the advertising and public relations programs, with an emphasis in teaching online graduate courses in advertising and public relations, as well as other courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a record of scholarly publication and/or creative activity and participate in service activities.
Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in advertising, public relations or a related field. An ABD in advertising, public relations or related field will be considered with the expectation that the Ph.D. be completed within one year of the position’s starting date. A demonstrated commitment to excellent classroom teaching and relevant professional experience in advertising, public relations or a related field are required.
Preferred qualifications include significant professional experience in advertising, public relations or a related field; evidence of successful undergraduate and graduate teaching experience; online teaching experience; evidence of published scholarly work in relevant peer-reviewed journals; a record of external support for research and/or creative work; and evidence of strong leadership and service contributions to an academic program.
