Reports To: Vice President, Audiences & Innovation
Develops and supervises implementation of annual and long-range marketing strategies and campaigns. Manages the Marketing department. Supervises relationships with agencies and consultants in database marketing, research, dynamic pricing, digital marketing and telemarketing.
Plan and supervise marketing/ticket sales campaigns and strategies for approx. 150 New York concerts including the 30+week subscription season, non-subscription concerts, benefits, special events, Parks concerts, Young People’s Concerts, festivals and tours.
Oversee execution of strategies to build the Philharmonic brand. Create a clear, meaningful brand identity in communications and ensure that identity is consistently applied across the organization.
Oversee integrated, cross-functional strategies to increase lifetime value of current concertgoers.
Work with Artistic leadership in planning concert programs and seasons.
Identify and access new market segments to broaden the subscription and single ticket base.
Ensure that social media is deployed to achieve strategic marketing objectives.
Conduct market research to inform customer-facing strategies organization-wide.
Oversee creation of ticket sales revenue forecasts and marketing expense budgets.
Supervise dynamic pricing activities.
Oversee content to achieve marketing, customer relationship and strategic promotional goals. Take lead responsibility for ticketing-related content, and review & approve revisions to insure consistency of execution and adherence to overall strategies.
Oversee brand consistency of merchandising.
Miscellaneous duties as required.
Knowledge of symphonic music and a minimum of 10 years marketing and advertising experience at a managerial level.
Executive-level experience with major non-profit cultural institution, preferably performing arts.
Experience/skill in marketing events within extremely competitive environment.
Proven success in:
Direct marketing, including direct mail and telemarketing
Digital marketing, including social media
Revenue and expense budgeting
