Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Marketing Specialist for the Rutgers Food Innovation Center – South. The incumbent in this position, serving as a marketing and workforce development specialist, is the primary person responsible for the execution of each of the objectives and deliverables of the Food Industry Talent Network grant, provided by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development to the Rutgers Food Innovation Center.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
Develops industry intelligence, identifying New Jersey food industry workforce needs, and develops high-quality, employer-driven partnerships to propose solutions to those needs.
Organizes, coordinates, participates in, and/or gives presentations as needed for activities, meetings, conferences, programs, and trade show events that are associated with completing these contract objectives.
Provides leadership in the development and maintenance of databases and impact measurements that are required for these programs, and primary and secondary market research and benchmarking that will further these initiatives.
Develops and coordinates marketing materials and website copy that are required
Serves as the primary interface with vendors responsible for their implementation.
Ensures that all industry contacts made are appropriately documented into Salesforce or the appropriate customer relationship management (CRM) system.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, economics, public policy, food science, nutrition or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Two years’ professional experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and exceptional customer service capabilities.
Must excel as a team player and demonstrate a positive attitude with individuals internal and external to Rutgers Food Innovation Center.
Experience in the food industry
Experience in training and workforce development
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The position can be located at either the Rutgers Food Innovation Center North location in Piscataway, or the South location in Bridgeton, and is flexible as to the location.
Must hold a current and valid driver's license and be able and willing to drive to industry meetings throughout the State of New Jersey.
