Essential Duties: •Position will provide oversight and lead execution of the day to day operation of GVSU Athletics digital operation which includes all multimedia integration; website, online presence, social media platforms (mobile), graphic design, video components and LakerVision (venue video board operations). Perform duties related to a comprehensive multimedia marketing plan that maximizes revenue, spectator attendance and branding. Will assist with the creation of electronic materials. Includes training and professional development of staff. •WEBSITE: Maintain the overall cohesiveness of the site. Coordination with communications office to maintain website content. •SOCIAL MEDIA: Responsible for management of social media operation. Coordinate, implement and create social media content. Strategically enhance the brand including increasing revenue. •GRAPHIC DESIGN: Responsible for management of design elements: Oversee the branding of all designs & special projects including Irwin Club and assist with recruiting services. •VIDEO: Assist with video content for the promotion of GVSU Athletics (creative content to tell the story of GVSU Athletics). •LAKERVISION: Fan engagement content using venue video boards. Oversight of video board game day operations and content. Develop fan engaging content to create an energized game day experience. •Provide management support including the development and maintenance of the departmental budget, unit and marketing plans, fostering collegial working relationships with university administration and student services departments. Non-Essential Duties: •Carry out other duties as assigned by the Deputy Director of Athletics for External Relations.
Two years’ experience working digital media and graphic design.
Experience working with graphic design and photography software programs.
Working knowledge of social media programs and applications.
Experience understanding advertising and marketing strategy.
Excellent creative, verbal and written communication skills.
Extensive knowledge of new media, social media and experience working with web-based content.
Three to five years of experience in digital media and graphic design.
Working knowledge of the following software programs: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe in Design, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Lightroom and other graphic design and photography software.
Working knowledge with the following social media programs and applications: Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook.
