Bishop Ireton High School, a Catholic co-ed college prep high school in Alexandria, Virginia, is seeking an experienced Director of Communications & Marketing who will report directly to the Senior Director of Institutional Advancement. The position will effectively steward Bishop Ireton’s identity as a Catholic high school with a proud tradition of educating students in the Salesian tradition and strategically grow the Bishop Ireton brand.
This position is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of all services, support, and materials relating to marketing, communications, and public relations for the school. This position also leads strategic communications planning across the school. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, creative, and flexible team player who embraces challenges, anticipates marketing needs for upcoming events, and looks for new opportunities to market the school.

Candidates must be a United States citizen at time of hire
Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Marketing, or a related degree
3-5 years of communications and/or marketing experience
Excellent organization skills and a demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines and prioritize projects
Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
Experience in digital marketing, writing for the web, and use of website content management systems (Wordpress)
Proven ability to optimize presence on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, InDesign, and/or Photoshop, required
Basic knowledge of HTML
Knowledge of Blackbaud education system or willingness to learn
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
Terms of Employment:
Full-time, FLSA Exempt, 12-month employee
Hours subject to responsibilities of position and may require occasional evening and weekend duty
Background check and Virtus training
Start Date: May 1, 2018
Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience
