The National Business Officers Association (NBOA), the only national association focused exclusively on supporting independent school business officers and business operations staff and fostering financial and operational excellence among independent PK-12 schools, is seeking an organized, motivated, data-driven and professional individual to join our Washington, DC office as Coordinator, Member Services and Marketing.
Reporting to the Vice President, Membership and Marketing, the Coordinator serves the NBOA membership by providing direct support to members, managing the maintaining the association’s netFORUM association management system (AMS), supporting membership renewal and retention efforts, and assisting in new member recruitment and program marketing efforts.
Essential responsibilities for this position include:
Support NBOA’s membership and marketing activities including the membership renewal process, member engagement and member retention strategies
Ensure quality data, follow data entry guidelines, check data integrity and maintain accurate member records and update organization and individual profiles by managing and building NBOA’s member data repository
Generate rosters, exports and reports from the netFORUM AMS
Ensure list functionality with MagnetMail (or other mail distribution/tracking service) and manages unsubscribes in netFORUM
Support the new member onboarding process, including generating welcome emails and assembling and mailing new member kits
Increase depth of reach and participation within member schools, focusing purchasing, demographic data collection and volunteer recruitment
Update and maintain the prime contact website
Support marketing and engagement promotions for NBOA communications, including the Net Assets portfolio, By the Numbers and Beyond and others
Serve as the primary point of contact for all member inquiries, manage the NBOA membership inbox, and ensure that all email and voice messages are answered in a timely manner
Provide administrative support for the NBOA membership awards process
Provide onsite support at NBOA meetings
Support the Senior Manager, Marketing and Member Engagement, in the webinar marketing process including, mail pieces, web content and e-mail marketing
Perform other duties as assigned in alignment with responsibilities and organizational goals.

Comfortable handling multiple projects simultaneously, managing deadlines, communicating conflicts and working independently
Collegial ability to work with flexibility and diplomacy in a virtual/distributed staff team environment, interacting individually and as part of a complex team effort
Experience in social media for an organization or in a professional environment preferred
Strong analytical, strategic thinking, writing and verbal communications to express and actualize a clear vision for member brand awareness, customer service orientation, and relationship and project management skills
Passion and commitment to NBOA’s mission and members, and highly invested in the success of the association

Requirements for this position:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, English or communications
Experience in an agency, marketing organization or association marketing communications group desired
A minimum of two years of full-time professional experience in a nonprofit organization, in a membership or marketing capacity
Ability to travel to Annual Meeting and other programs and work additional hours as needed
