As a member of the senior leadership team in the Division of Student Affairs, the Director of Marketing and Communications will oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing and communications strategies designed to further the mission, vision, goals, and priorities of a large and complex operation with various University stakeholders.
The incumbent will manage a team of multimedia marketing and communications professionals who use a variety of mediums to effectively publicize the wide array of programs and services that support student success and that fosters the values of diversity and inclusion. The position is responsible for branding Student Affairs through the development of consistent messaging and content that is distributed in print and electronically via publications, Web sites, social media, and other mediums.
The person in this position serves as a collaborative, trusted strategic advisor to the Vice Provost and Dean of Students, as well as various program and event managers throughout the division and University. The incumbent serves as the primary spokesperson and media contact for the division and must have excellent communications skills, demonstrate professionalism in every interpersonal encounter, and the ability to work with diverse individuals and groups of people. The position will require the ability to track, measure, and evaluate the success of the division's marketing efforts, and develop strategic plans to enhance the student experience.
