The College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications responsible for leading the development and execution of modern marketing and communications strategies to enhance the image and reputation of the college and drive choice of Ohio State from a multi-faceted set of stakeholders including prospective students, alumni and donors, corporate and community partners, clients and government officials and others. The Director will be expected to lead strategies through the development of deep understanding of audiences and create marketing strategies that optimize the dissemination of key messages, by audience. The Director will be expected to work across the college, with internal stakeholders, and in partnership with the Veterinary Medical Center to ensure consistency of message delivery while effectively addressing communications and marketing needs. The Director will effectively lead a team of marketing and communications professionals in brand development and management, marketing strategy and implementation, executive communications, profile management, communications and PR management, and creative development, delivery and production. The Director will collaborate with university marketing, communications, and advancement staff to effectively align with the university mission and initiatives.

Bachelor’s degree in business management, or related field, or in a discipline related to marketing and communications or an equivalent combination of education and experience; at least 7-10 years of relevant strategic marketing experience including team leadership and management; extensive experience in brand, marketing, and communications strategic planning and implementation across platforms and channels; demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing and communications initiatives.
Master’s degree; knowledge and familiarity with higher education; experience fostering a collaborative and creative work environment; ability to communicative effectively with diverse audiences; superior oral, written, editing, and presentation skills; strong creative, strategic, analytical, and organizational skills; proven ability to deliver projects that achieve strategic objectives, on-time and on-budget; prior responsibility for a marketing budget; strategic and long-range planning experience.
Target Salary: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 Annually
