The Haslam College of Business (HCB) at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications and nominations for the Director of MSCM Student Career Management and Manager of the UT Supply Chain Forum position in the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management. UT Knoxville and the Business School: The University of Tennessee, Knoxville is the state's flagship university with approximately 30,000 students currently enrolled on the main campus in Knoxville. The business school is housed in the state-of-the-art, 174,000 square-foot, $40 million, James A. Haslam II Business Building. The business school with its 5,134 students and 128 full-time faculty has received much press in recent years. U.S. News and World Report ranked UT's Haslam College of Business undergraduate business program in the Top 30 in the nation among public institutions and in the Top 5 within the SEC in 2017. Gartner ranked the college's undergraduate and MBA programs in supply chain management 3rd and 2nd respectively nationally. Finally, the full-time MBA program has been ranked by U.S. News and World Report 34th against public universities nationwide.
The Position: Reporting to the Executive Director of the Global Supply Chain Institute, the position of Director of MSCM Student Career Management and Manager of the UT Supply Chain Forum will have both mentoring and program coordination responsibilities. This position actually consists of three parts. The primary duties for the Director of MSCM Student Career Management are assisting UT Supply Chain Forum companies with undergraduate recruiting needs for internships and full-time placements after graduating, along with leading efforts to enhance the professional and career development of SCM students through programming and/or certifications. In the role as Manager of the UT Supply Chain Forum, you oversee and facilitate undergraduate participation and work closely with Forum staff to ensure superior program delivery and execution. The third aspect to this position is the Supply Chain Scholars of Distinction Administrator and Architect, which is the only program of its kind at UT. You would be involved with overseeing the selection and then provide mentoring and coaching for top supply chain students from freshman to senior year. All roles for this position has supervision and training responsibilities. This is an exempt, 12-month, fulltime, non-tenure track staff position.
