Reporting to the Director of Social Media, the Online Marketing and Social Media Manager oversees the development and implementation of the University's paid social media campaigns and communications research efforts, develops strategic communications and public relations plans for social media, serves as one of the University Communications contacts for communications professionals across the UNC campus and provides counsel to communicators in the various schools and units. He/she has a command of social media applications and online marketing techniques, research methodology, content creation and media and influencer relations as well as the ability to use holistic, integrated thinking. In particular, this position will have a strong presence with social media analytics, monitoring and platform management, as well as a focus on digital marketing integration.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Demonstrated experience developing and executing paid social media campaigns. Demonstrated experience utilizing Google analytics and other tools to standardize reporting of digital and social media metrics.
Ability to develop standard benchmarking and reporting systems.
