AMR Management Services has an exciting new opportunity available for a Marketing Director at our corporate headquarters located in Lexington, Kentucky.
The Marketing Director reports to the President & COO and is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the Marketing and Business Development activities for the company and is charged with creating and implementing the new AMR Shared Services department of Marketing & Creative Services. This position provides supervision and management to the Marketing & Creative Services team and serves as a positive and professional liaison to support all internal/external clients.
In this role, you will:
Plan and execute AMR’s marketing efforts
Lead all New Business Development efforts from strategic development to execution
Build a Marketing Services department that is focused on providing marketing and PR services to AMR clients.
Grow AMR’s Brand as both a leading Association Management Company and a leading Marketing Consultant.
The idea candidate will be a results-oriented individual with a demonstrated ability to build compelling value propositions, manage multiple deadlines, and coordinate and manage joint projects. The successful candidate will be driven by the passion to build a successful marketing team dedicated to advancing the success of our partner organizations and further the success of AMR.
AMR Marketing and Business Development:
Plan and execute AMR’s marketing efforts to build awareness and interest in AMR’s full service, project, and consultative offerings. To include traditional, digital, social media and other marketing opportunities and platforms.
Lead all AMR business development efforts from strategic development to execution.
Evaluate Request for Proposals (RFP) against AMR targets and qualifying metrics.
Lead and coordinate the proposal process in response to the RFP. Duties include:
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to gather information, staffing needs, etc.
Determine innovative and compelling selling points along with AMR’s unique selling proposition.
Communicate and build relationships as appropriate with prospect leaders to gather answers and build a positive perception of AMR.
Meet stated RFP deadlines.
Author the AMR RFP response (proposal) while ensuring the deliverable is a compelling representation of AMR’s abilities and why they should choose AMR.
Develop and execute the approach to finalist presentations as necessary.
Marketing & Creative Services:
Manage, direct, and supervise the Marketing and Creative Services personnel and resources.
Develops work plan hours and labor allocations to support the needs of existing and new client partners.
Consult with client teams to determine objectives and requirements for marketing, public relations and creative needs.
Meet with client teams and client committees to consult on the creation of marketing, public relations or creative campaigns. Plan goals and scope of services and help to establish and monitor budgets, or to review administrative procedures and project progress.
Plan and develop marketing, communications and public relations programs, goals, budgets, and services according to customer requirements.
Evaluate and select services providers according to client requirements while complying with AMR’s standard operating procedures.
Develop marketing and public relations strategies, best practices, and plans that anticipate and reflect the changing needs of AMR client partners.
Overtime and occasional weekend and/or evening work may be required.
Travel and overnight stay will be required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated ability to serve as a strong ambassador for AMR’s services and capabilities.
Capable of continuous improvement initiatives for existing programs.
Capable of developing new initiatives from concept through implementation.
Demonstrate the core competencies of communication, productivity, quality, responsiveness, leadership.
Demonstrated experience in the modern marketing and public relations field, including traditional and digital/internet based efforts.
Ability to guide, direct and manage multiple projects within department and with other staff members to achieve project goals on time and within budget.
Strong knowledge of marketing and public relations terminology and concepts.
Ability to respond to common marketing and public relations related inquiries from staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret manuals, legal documents, technical reports, professional journals, and industry/trade magazines.
Excellent writing and proofreading skills to address a variety of audiences.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, business math, and analytical skills.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suites.
Knowledge of the association management company industry a plus.
Excellent Project Management Skills
Proven track record of identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives from concept through implementation
Proactive, self-driven work style with ability to reach a deliverable with minimal supervision
Training and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum 5 years of related experience in a similar role with focus on marketing and public relations for associations and/or professional services firm.
Prior experience leading and/or managing a creative team and/or department.
Prior supervisory experience preferred.
CAE a plus.
